Air France, Allianz Travel Launch Flight Delay Insurance

Air France and Allianz Travel are launching proactive travel insurance for flight delays. All customers who have purchased a ticket on www.airfrance.fr and taken out Allianz Travel insurance, now automatically receive €50 per person when their flight departure is delayed by more than 2 hours. Customers do not have to file claims or provide receipts to receive compensation.

“Proactive insurance has been designed to make life easier for customers when waiting for their flight’s departure. By receiving an immediate payment, the customer’s wait at the airport is made more enjoyable, as they can purchase a snack or a gift, for example.”

Proactive insurance in a few steps: following a reported delay of more than two hours, the customer receives an SMS and an email with a link to enter their booking reference and bank details to later (up to 5 days later) receive a €50 bank deposit.

“We are very happy to strengthen our joint offer with Allianz Travel with this new service. With proactive insurance, we offer the customer an even simpler trip with minimum stress, notably in the event of travel delays. Customer satisfaction remains at the heart of our commercial strategy.” – Patrick Alexandre, EVP Air France-KLM, Commercial, Sales and Alliances.

“This insurance constitutes a real asset for the end customer as we are meeting their expectations proactively. This innovation is the result of a genuine co-creation between Air France teams and our own. Initial feedback from beneficiary customers has been excellent.” – Noël Ghanimé, CEO of Allianz Partners France.
