AmFam Ventures invests in LeaseLock

CA-based LeaseLock announced it has raised $1 million in a seed round led by AmFam Ventures . Founded in 2014, LeaseLock offers a lease default insurance product for rental property managers underwritten by Qatar Insurance. The startup targets renters that have an issue with their credit score to allow them to pay the LeaseLock fee, which is then translated to an insurance policy that guarantees rent payments. “The structure and value proposition of the LeaseLock product are truly unique, and make this program the first of its kind in market,” said Dan Reed, managing director, at American Family Ventures. Startup TheGuarantors comes to mind.
