Announcing the Official Launch of Troo
Last week marked the official launch of Troo, a joint venture between Ageas and EastWest Bank that looks to offer life insurance products in the Philippines.
Troo was established in 2015, yet it began its bancassurance operations at EastWest stores last year and has since “helped more than 150,000 families by financially protecting them, ensuring children’s education, and providing individual and retirement savings”. Basically, the Troo platform provides advice wrapped in a good-looking UI, minus the ability to purchase coverage online. Because that’s what EastWest branches are for. Coverager covered Troo before. Here. Bottom Line: Troo = online evaluators, offline distributors .

Underwritten by Ageas, the policy allows young drivers to pay for an initial package of 500 miles from £195, arranging an automatic top-up of 100 to 500 miles when they have 50 miles remaining, with the top-up costing less the safer the policyholder drives. Drivers can keep a track of what has been used on their app and earn a No Claims Discount for every year they remain claim free.
