Gather was a Boston-based insurance startup that was looking to offer fast, fair and affordable small business insurance quotes.

Its founder,  Michael Ritchie, planned on adding a P2P element to the scheme by allowing one to join a community, which will collectively ‘own’ the insurance company that insures the members. Play.

The news follows last week’s announcement that London-based P2P car insurance startup Guevara has shut down its operations.
