Apple Extends AppleCare+ Coverage

Apple, which unveiled three new iPhones on Wednesday, has extended its AppleCare+ warranty program for iPhones to include coverage against theft and loss. Now, iPhone users can choose between two AppleCare+ plans – one that covers accidental damage, and one that covers accidental damage, theft and loss.

Both plans provide a 2-year coverage that includes up to two incidents. The new theft and loss plan, which requires users to have the “Find My iPhone” feature enabled on their device at the time it is lost or stolen, is underwritten by Assurant.
