Asurion makes cuts

Warranty protection provider Asurion is making cuts that could result in ~1,000 employees losing their jobs.

In a statement provided to the Business Journal, the company said it is focused on continued growth. “Workforce reductions were made globally and at all levels,” the company said. “Asurion is reorganizing its operation to focus on the continued growth of its mobility, home, appliance products and retail store operations. That means making thoughtful decisions on how we align resources with the right roles and skills needed to deliver future growth.”

The layoffs shrank Asurion’s worldwide workforce by less than 5% as the company employs over 25,000 employees across 55 locations around the world.
