The round was led by KKR-backed accounting platform MYOB and included existing investors Point72 Ventures, Acorn Capital and David Fite, and Malcolm Turnbull joins as a new investor.

The acquisition will strengthen Assurant’s trade-in and upgrade programs by doubling device processing volumes while adding device diversity, talent, patented technology and capabilities.

This new product will provide insurance cover for the marine shipping market to protect against cyber exposures on board vessels and onshore in shipping company offices.

Following closing, Allianz Group and Telefónica Group will each hold 50 percent in the joint venture company under a co-control governance model.

Homethrive will use the Series A proceeds to accelerate its expansion into health plans and the self-insured employer market as well as further build out its technology stack and digital tools.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed. 

This round brings Assurely’s total funding to just over $3.7 million.
