Breeze adds critical illness insurance to digital platform

Omaha-based insurtech company Breeze announced the launch of a critical illness insurance product now available to consumers on its digital platform. This move expands the company’s partnership with Assurity Life, which seeks to provide consumers with easier access to affordable insurance products in underserved markets.

Similar to its approach to disability insurance, Breeze aims to make shopping for critical illness insurance online a quick, convenient and affordable experience. Individuals can request personalized critical illness insurance quotes and complete a secure digital application process in about ten minutes. Breeze’s partner, Assurity Life, is rated “excellent” by AM Best for financial strength and provides automated methods to expedite underwriting and allow for instant coverage decisions for eligible applicants.

“Launching an online critical illness insurance product expands Breeze’s mission to protect Americans in their most financially vulnerable moments. With more Americans turning to crowdfunding platforms to pay for large, unexpected medical bills, this product provides a simple, affordable way to help cover the costs of financially catastrophic conditions not covered by health insurance.” – Colin Nabity, co-founder and CEO at Breeze.

“Since launching our partnership with Breeze, we’ve been pleased with the initial progress we’ve made in the disability insurance space. Adding Assurity’s critical illness insurance product to Breeze’s simple, streamlined platform advances our mission to use innovative technology to help underserved markets access vital protection. This is an exciting next step for our partnership.” – Jared Carlson, vice president of ventures and individual sales at Assurity.
