Hanover Partners With TrueMotion

Smartphone telematics provider TrueMotion , announced a new partnership with Hanover Insurance Group. As part of the partnership, Hanover will use TrueMotion’s platform to power its new digital program, SafeTeen, built to encourage safe driving among teens via education, rewards and savings.

Available through the company’s agent partners for drivers aged 16-19, the SafeTeen app provides drivers with an overall driving score based on behaviors such as speeding, harsh braking, distraction and acceleration, along with a dashboard for parents to view their teen’s driving behaviors. By participating, parents receive a discount on their auto policy and teens that demonstrate safe driving behaviors may qualify to receive Amazon rewards.

“We understand that one of the most stressful times as a parent is when you send your newly licensed driver out on the road. Our partnership with TrueMotion allows us to offer our agent partners a valuable tool for their customers embarking on this new journey with their teens. We looked at a broad group of smartphone telematics companies to partner with, but in the end we selected TrueMotion because of its data accuracy, consultative approach, and experience with safe driving programs.” – President, Personal Lines at The Hanover, Dan Halsey.

“Distracted driving is one of the most dangerous challenges facing society today, especially for young people. Our smartphone telematics platform was designed to reveal driving behaviors and motivate teens to learn better driving habits using the latest strategies from behavioral science and mobile engagement. We’re excited to partner with The Hanover in our joint mission to make roads safer for all, provide independent agents with a useful tool for their customers, and provide more peace of mind for parents of teen drivers, knowing their kids will be safer behind the wheel with this program.” – CEO of TrueMotion, Ted Gramer.
