IoT Goes Mainstream

Church Mutual has partnered with The Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) to provide eligible customers temperature and water sensors connected to a 24/7 monitoring system. This tech is designed to alert customers to take action before damages and disruptions to their ministries can occur. Speaking of HSB, the insurer announced the acquisition of Meshify, a tech provider to connect disconnected devices through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Recall: previous investments by HSB include Augury, a company that makes smart device technology for managing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, aka HVAC systems, and Waygum, which develops technology to control and monitor industrial equipment.
