Small CL Asst. Virtual Sales Director

Our Small Commercial Lines Sales team is currently seeking an Assistant Virtual Sales Director.
This is a full time exempt role. This role is eligible for a remote work arrangement.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Working with the VP of Strategy & Distribution and the Virtual Small Commercial Sales Managers to accelerate Hanover’s Virtual Sales strategy. Responsible for driving the conversion of agents to partners through deep collaboration with Agency Networks, the Small Commercial Leadership team, and the field leadership team by directing and coaching Virtual Small Commercial Sales Managers and owning/developing the small commercial business strategies for assigned regions across the country.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Promote collaboration with our agents to develop fast, flexible, and custom-tailored solutions designed to meet the unique insurance needs for our Small Commercial Clients.
- Support the Virtual Sales Strategy in converting agents to partners by managing, directing and coaching Virtual Small Commercial Sales Managers day-to-day activities
- Incorporate partnership strategy, small commercial business strategies, and strong knowledge of the small commercial marketplace and agents into effective sales management
- Manage Virtual Small Commercial Sales Managers sales efforts to develop deeper agent partnerships and achieve small commercial goals with a 20% penetration for small commercial business
- Develop Small Commercial Virtual Sales Managers competencies to achieve higher performance
- Conduct competency assessments, provide insight into SCSM’s’ performance to direct manager, consult on performance management
- Work with Virtual Small Commercial Sales Managers to develop territory business plans
- Coach Virtual Small Commercial Sales Managers on day-to-day sales activities
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Bachelor’s degree required; insurance certification(s) preferred
- 6+ years proven sales performance and some sales management experience or sales management training in the small commercial insurance environment
- Ability to effectively manage 5 – 8 sales people and balance multiple sales priorities in a dynamic and very fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate with and influence, particularly with senior level field leadership, as this role will be working in a national capacity across multiple branches and/or regions
- Excellent communication skills are essential; effective face-to-face interactions and presentations to groups, as well as strong phone skills, along with sound written communications, including impeccable follow through
- Passion for driving actions and achieving results, with a competitive spirit of winning and an orientation towards achievement
