La Parisienne Assurances becomes Wakam

Paris-based insurer La Parisienne Assurances announced its rebrand to Wakam, “an INsurer that offers 100% digital, white-label insurance solutions to e-retailer, broker or insurtech partners .”

Founded in 1829, the company operates in 13 countries and has enjoyed an average annual growth rate of 37.2% over the last five years and a turnover of €382 million in 2019. Wakam provides its B2B clients with white-label, embedded insurance solutions within their products or services. Access is done via APIs consumed more than two million times per week. Also, the insurer now hosts more than 300,000 contracts in its private blockchain connected to a public protocol to timestamp and automate the management of policies and claims.

“This new brand is the new reflection of our identity: a pioneer of 100% digital BtoBtoC insurance, in strong growth on an international scale and fundamentally turned towards the future. Building on the nearly 200-year history of La Parisienne Assurances, we are opening a new chapter which aims to allow us to become the leader in digital insurance in Europe both economically and in terms of our social responsibility at the service of our partners and companies that trust us. Wakam is more than a brand, it is for all teams the signature of our commitment to excellence and responsibility in France and around the world.” – Olivier Jaillon, Chief Executive & Enablement Officer of Wakam  .
