Liberty Mutual gets a gold star

“We introduced this initiative to develop products and services that benefit everyone and ultimately help drivers make informed choices and feel less worry on the road” – Ted Kwartler, assistant vice president, Innovation, at Liberty Mutual Insurance, on the launch of an API developer portal. The Gist: Liberty plans to use the portal to offer developers and data scientists a source for public data on auto theft, parking citations and crashes, to allow them to analyze the data and identify different value propositions to drivers such as what’s the safest driving route or what’s the closest parking spot. Bottom Line: an insurer that’s willing to share its data for the sake of its customers. Golden.
