Monzo Isn’t Going to Pluto

Back in May, Which covered Monzo Plus, a new service from challenger bank Monzo that offers extra features – such as fee-free cash withdrawals and Zipcar discounts – for the monthly cost of £6.

“Monzo Plus is a way to get even more out of your Monzo account. You’ll be able to add on extra features for a monthly fee, to make managing your finances stress-free. You’ll get an exclusive Monzo Plus card in a choice of three colours, a custom username and access to exclusive events. You’ll also be able to add on features that suit you, including travel insurance and benefits while abroad like a higher ATM limit. We’re building Monzo Plus with you, and so we’ll be adding lots more over the next few months to make it even better.”

About that travel insurance – originally Monzo partnered with London-based Pluto to offer travel insurance (from Zurich) for an extra £4 a month.

That was then.

This is now.

And now Monzo is offering travel insurance from AXA; “If you signed up to Monzo Plus early on, your insurance might be provided by Pluto. You’ve now got the option of switching to AXA – if you’d like to, get in touch with us in the app.”
