Nationwide Invests in VitusVet

Nationwide has announced an investment in VitusVet , a mobile client app and veterinary practice platform.

Established in 2013, the Baltimore-based company offers digital tools for veterinary practices and pet parents to improve pets’ lives. Its app offers 2-way texting, access to pet medical records 24/7 and requests for prescription refills and appointments. Also, as of July 2017, Nationwide Pet Insurance members have exclusive access to claims submission functionality via the app. To date, Nationwide pet insurance members have filed more than 635,000 claims through the VitusVet app.

Our new vet uses VitusVet and I love it. I just learned tonight I can link it to my pet insurance and submit a claim in the app. Nice!

Veterinary practices have also benefited from the VitusVet technology, which allows them to streamline their appointment processes, monitor their practice’s performance and simplify client reminders.

“When Nationwide began our partnership with VitusVet, we saw the potential of how their groundbreaking technology could streamline the process of a customer submitting a pet insurance claim. We, and our members, have seen that potential realized during the past three years. This investment will help VitusVet continue their work of finding new and exciting ways to improve the connection between pet owners and pet health care providers.” – Peter McMurtrie, Nationwide’s senior vice president of emerging businesses.

“The health of pets is a priority for VitusVet, so we are very happy to be deepening our partnership with Nationwide. With this investment we will continue to create easy-to-use technology that improves the connection between veterinary practices and pet owners.” – Mark Olcott, DVM, cofounder and CEO of VitusVet.
