PriorAuthNow picks up funding to automate medical authorizations

PriorAuthNow, which makes software to automate the prior authorization process for insurance to cover medical tests and procedures, has raised $1.68 million, bringing its total funding to date to $3.47M. The company has built an internal routing engine that knows where to send and receive prior authorizations, all while eliminating the need to manually track down approvals prior to procedure dates. Two things to note. One. At least three peeps really like the service.

Two. It combined forces with Olive; a virtual care assistant that’s trained on care coordination, patient engagement, eligibility checks and portal communications. For instance, she can check against insurance eligibility portals and offer recommendations based on her findings.
