Rasa raises $30 million

Rasa , a conversational AI platform, has raised $30 million in a Series C funding round. This investment was co-led by StepStone Group and PayPal Ventures, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Accel, and Basis Set Ventures.

The company intends to leverage the investment to further develop its technology and broaden its market presence.

Rasa’s commitment is to empower major brands with AI assistants that are both flexible and customizable. The launch of Rasa Pro and Rasa Studio, featuring Conversational AI with Language Models (CALM), marks a major step forward. This technology merges the versatility of LLMs with the reliability of traditional chatbots, ensuring natural and coherent user interactions. Rasa Studio, in particular, offers an intuitive development environment, significantly cutting down on development time and costs.

Rasa’s technology has already seen adoption across various sectors, including banking, insurance, travel, and hospitality, boasting over 50 million downloads by developers. One noteworthy application of Rasa’s technology is by the insurance company Lemonade, which utilized Rasa’s framework to develop Cooper, an “internal automation brain.” This tool has streamlined Lemonade’s engineering workflows by managing tasks, automating testing, and facilitating deployments through Slack integration.
