Root’s Rosenthal joins Global Critical Logistics

Global Critical Logistics , a provider of freight forwarding and global logistics to specialty sectors, and a portfolio company of ATL Partners, announced Daniel Rosenthal has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 24, 2023.

Most recently, Rosenthal served as Chief Revenue & Operating Officer at Root Insurance , a technology-based provider of auto insurance that has pivoted from focusing on its direct-to-consumer channel to working with independent agents and building its embedded insurance channel.

At Root, Rosenthal worked alongside its founders to grow premiums from $4 million to $742 million from 2017 to 2021, according the press release, and to guide the company through multiple funding rounds, including the company’s IPO in October 2020. In terms of employee-count, the current Root is the same size as it was prior to becoming public, according to statistics from LinkedIn and Coverager Research.

As background, Rosenthal informed Root of his plan to resign effective March 23, 2023. He’s entitled to a 2022 annual bonus in the amount of $750,000 to be paid in early 2023. And this isn’t Rosenthal’s first bonus.
