That’s The Only Way to Reach Them

“The millennials and the young generation of people like to connect with each other online. The only way to reach them is by selling them products online” – MD of Health and Employee Benefits at AXA Hong Kong, Yi Mien Koh.

And with that in mind, French insurer AXA  is planning to invest ~$25m in a digital health insurance platform in Hong Kong, to allow consumers to purchase coverage, and claim online.

Most Hongkongers get their medical insurance coverage by group medical plan under their employer, or as an add-on feature to their life policies. AXA, wants to see more policyholders buy medical coverage as a stand-alone product, now that the Hong Kong government plans to offer tax incentives next April for the Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme.

“If all people rely on public hospital facilities, the system is not sustainable. Private health insurance can also offer education and support to help clients maintain a healthy lifestyle and to assist in finding the right health specialist and treatment” – Yi Mien Koh.
