Insurance fraud in Ireland costs the industry over €200M every year . These are a few of the initiatives they have introduced:
– Guidelines for the reporting of suspected insurance fraud
– ‘Insurance Link’, an anti-fraud search engine developed to enable insurance companies to cross-reference claims with their fellow insurers
– ‘Fraud Forum, a platform to allow exchange of information and expertise between insurance companies. It is made up of specialist staff from each company’s claims department who are trained in fraud investigation
