Zego partners with Ryde

Zego has partnered with UK-based Ryde, an on-demand logistics company connecting businesses with last mile delivery riders and drivers.

As part of the partnership, Zego will integrate its insurance validation API into Ryde’s platform, allowing the company to simplify the onboarding process of new drivers while ensuring the fleet of drivers has valid, “cost-effective insurance in place at all times.” Ryde’s riders will have access to Zego’s monthly, annual and flexible policies.

Ryde was founded in 2020 and has raised ~$4 million in funding. According to its site, it has a partnership with Laka around bicycle insurance. Ryde also offers drivers public liability insurance, which is provided by Collective Benefits.

“Ryde’s mission is to give businesses of all sizes access to leading delivery capabilities. The pandemic and wider consumer trends both highlight the growing importance of being able to offer speedy delivery – as more consumers enjoy online shopping, food and grocery delivery to home. While we focus on growing our network, it is important to have this partnership with Zego to focus fully on our mission, knowing insurance is covered.” – Duncan Mitchell, CEO of Ryde.

“Our partnership with Ryde is a textbook example of why we started Zego. Via our API integration, we will be able to give Ryde’s fleet managers hours back a week while ensuring that their fleet has access to a cost-effective, flexible insurance solution.” – Sten Saar, CEO of Zego.
